![]() Targeted telephone samples are available in the U.S. Limited targeted telephone samples, such as income, presence of children in the home, and dwelling type, are available in Canada. SSI's detailed selections for targeting specific categories in the U.S. include age, automobile, Census data, ethnic/race, and income. Other demographic information which can be coupled with targeted selection criteria includes gender, marital status, and presence of children in the home.
Age
Select directory-listed samples by range or exact age based on head of household, household member, or individual. Head of Household Records carry an Age Predictor, a value based on either known age-related data or a statistical estimate of age, predicted on individual household characteristics and U.S. Census demographic information; select any five-year break. Household Member Households are scored on multiple secondary sources; select from ranges, including children, seniors, and women. Individual Records are derived from multiple secondary sources; select by age, gender, or date of birth. Automobile Targeted automobile samples reach owners of specific automobile makes, models, years, body styles, purchase influence, and many other selection criteria. With more than 450 million vehicles available for selection, SSI offers a comprehensive solution to targeting automobile owners. SSI adds value to automotive research with cleaning, validation, replication, time zone sorting, and other file sorts. Demographic selections include age, gender, marital status, income, and presence of children. Census Data Researchers can increase the incidence of rare market segments by describing target markets in terms of demographic characteristics found in the 2000 Census. Geographic units with a higher-than-average incidence of the demographic(s) can be identified for sample selection. The more the targeted population is concentrated in specific geographic areas, the more efficient the targeting process will be. Ethnic/Race Targeted listed/unlisted samples SSI has developed targeted listed and unlisted samples to accurately reach Asian, Black, Hispanic, Native American, and White (including White Hispanic) populations. SSI's targeted methodologies include: Surname Directory-listed samples based on a surname match. Census Tract Density The probability of ethnic densities is correlated to individual households, then a density code is assigned to each directory-listed household. Exchange Density RDD samples based on the probability of ethnic densities of U.S. Census tracts is correlated to exchanges. SSI also offers directory-listed sample selection for several other nationalities. Income SSI offers both directory-listed and RDD targeted income samples. Directory-Listed Sample Select by an income predictor that targets households within a specified income range. RDD Sample An average of the income predictor scores at the household level are computed for each telephone exchange. Exchanges are ranked by predicted income. Targeted Affluence Samples SSI offers two distinct models for targeting affluent households. These multidimensional models go beyond SSI's targeted income samples in that they use a variety of inputs to estimate household net worth and investible assets. Targeted affluence samples can be combined with other demographic variables such as income, age, gender, presence of children in the home, and ethnic group to refine selection targeting. SSI offers two household-level affluence estimates: Net Worth (NW) and Income Producing Assets (IPA). NW is defined as total financial assets minus liabilities. IPA is defined as liquid assets such as deposit and trust accounts, securities, and investment funds. IPA does not include income, real estate equity, property, or business values, nor does not take debt into account. Each methodology offers 10 income ranges from which to choose.
